Red Rock
Wow. Just Wow.
We raced down from Echo Lake to get to an ampitheatre Justin has been dreaming of exploring for years.
We got there right in the nick of time too. Right as we started walking up, a lady announced the ampitheatre was closing in 20 minutes so they could set up for the Need to Breathe concert that night.
If only we could have stayed!
But seeing the red rocks and exploring the ampitheatre was enough. Its awe-invoking how these rocks came to be and how in the world they discovered this location had naturally amazing aucoustics.
I kept thinking about one of Aubyn’s teacher who saw The Avett Brothers play here. I’d only seen her pictures and thought it looked like a cool place to see a show, especially The Avett Brothers, but I had no idea how epic in person it would actually be.
The best part?
Seeing Justin in absolute awe. He just sat there as long as they would let him and took it all in. They literally had to ask usher us out of the place.
It’s hard to describe the natural beauty of it all, both inside and outside the auditorium.
We hiked up to a lookout on the outside and saw what seemed to be miles of red rocks just jutting out of the earth.
I don’t understand all the science behind how the earth was created and how it came to be the way it looks today, but I sure am glad God created it to look the way it does. Little nuggets of beauty and wonder as far as the eye can see.
