Ghost Town
Justin had another surprise for us…a ghost town! It was just a few miles up the road from the gold mine. Who was ready?
Not Embry.
Poor girl wasn’t feeling well again. In the gold mine, she sat down and Justin carried her the rest of the way.
The description of the drive up to the ghost town sounded precarious, and after the drive that morning, I was happy to stay back in the camper with Embry. I would have stayed with her regardless, but the description definitely helped me get over the sadness of missing out on a ghost town.
Sweet girl slept for two hours while they explored and I wrote about our journeys so far. I got a late start writing, so this was a great opportunity to catch up a little.
Justin and the crew got back, full of stories, but said that I definitely made the right choice to not go. Justin said that if he had known what they were about to drive and for how far, he wouldn’t have gone either.
But the ghost town was a hit with the other three, Embry was getting rest, and I had recuperated from the treacherous drive. Now on to Cortez and Mesa Verde!
