Fourteen

The best decision I have ever made, and I’ve made a few, but the best decision was to marry you.

And it was the easiest decision as well.

Hands down.

A million times over, I would say yes and do this life with you all over again.

We weren’t babies when we got married, but we sure looked like it.

Fourteen years married and four incredible children later…look at us!

I was doing some math last night (I know, not my strong suit), but out of our 14 years married, I was pregnant at some point every year between 2012 and 2019 (Aubyn 2012-2013, Embry 2014-2015, Baby 2016, Avett 2017, Edley 2018-2019). That’s 7 years, half of our married life! Isn’t that insane?

The best part was Edley as an anniversary gift in 2019. Celebrating being married to you and welcoming her to our family, which was now complete; ending that season of our lives and ushering in a new one.

Pregnant years and newborns were challenging, but nothing we couldn’t handle.

Job moves. House moves. Renovations. More renovations. Loss of pets. Loss of a baby. Changes in schools. Global pandemic. Spiritual awakenings and spiritual warfare.

You name it.

As long as you are by my side and steering the ship, we can take on anything.

And I know our true guide is Jesus, but I see Jesus in you which is why I trust you so fully and depend on you so deeply. You are His hands and feet and it is apparent in our marriage and our family.

There is noone whose side I would rather be beside than yours.

As Embry would say, I love you to the mooooooooooooooooon and back, but that doesn’t seem big enough.

I love you. I do…boop.

We haven’t stopped laughing and playing since this day 14 years ago and still try not to take ourselves too seriously…
