2025

After an afternoon hiking with the family in our backyard, I turned to find Byron G, who had been running right alongside us the whole time, turned around staring into the distance.

Watching.

Waiting.

Looking.

It struck me how his one act represented how I feel going into the new year.

After bringing in the New Year with family and friends and then spending the first day of 2025 with my crew, I find myself also watching. Waiting. Looking.

Wondering what is to come. Maybe just a little on guard as to what the new year holds.

Apprehensively hopeful, perhaps?

2024 was a year of highs and lows.

2025 will most likely be the same.

Why shouldn’t it be?

Even with the highs and the lows of last year, one thing was consistent: God was with us. With me.

Through the joys and through the sadness, He was there.

My part in all of it was to look for Him.

What I discovered in 2024, is that if I am looking for Him, I will, without fail, find Him.

So whatever this year holds, I will look for God, wait for Him, and watch to see how He moves. I will be on guard against the enemy and will protect my flock, my precious family, just as Byron G is commissioned to protect his.

I pray blessings on you and your loved ones this new year. May you look for God in all your circumstances, whether good or bad. May you wait on His guidance and may you eagerly watch for His nature to be exposed and glorified in all circumstances.

Happy New Year!
